flyball trainingWe currently have a number of new or young dogs on our team and are in the process of training. Rather than holding formal classes we are inviting those who wish to join us to train with our team. Please contact us at info@sbsupersonic.org or call Steve Shepard at 805.252.8617 to see how you can join in! Click here for directions to Girsh Park. |
preparing for trainingThe prerequisites for attending flyball class are few, but they are vitally important:
If you have a younger dog, please contact us for preliminary training suggestions and exercises you can work on while your puppy matures in preparation for his/her first flyball class. |
puppy exercisesWhile a puppy is too young to repeatedly jump over hurdles and bounce off a box, s/he is never too young to develop the basic skills and drive for flyball. Start with the basics. Get your puppy into puppy classes (see our dog resources page), basic obedience classes, and get your puppy reliable off-leash. There are ball retrieval and tug toy exercises you can do as well. And it helps to come out to some of our practices and see what it all about. We can give you some direction to get you started and it's a great place to socialize your puppy. |
